Sept. 6- Day 1 - Packed And Ready To Go

The Born Free Motorcoach has been cleaned and waxed. The refrigerator is stocked with food and drink. The gas tank is full and the holding tanks are empty. The chassis is straining under the weight of all the essentials and toys that will accompany my wife, Winnie and me on a trip that will eventually cover six states and two Canadian Provinces. We will be on the road for at least five weeks and we’re ready to travel!

Usually when the coach is washed and waxed, it rains. This time it is a little different. Instead of a simple shower, we are experiencing Tropical Storm Hanna. The coach looks great with the water beading up on the shiny waxed surfaces.

Winnie and I purchased this motor coach in 2004. After many years of attending camping shows and visiting RV showrooms, we decided on the Born Free. It was a good decision. It is a quality coach built on a Ford E-450 Super Duty chassis fitted with a V10 engine that has the power to move this coach with ease. http://www.bornfreemotorcoach.com/

The first destination of this trip is a Rally of Born Free Motorcoach owners being held at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. There we will join other members our club called the Leap’n Lions. This is an outstanding group of individuals who enjoy the fellowship of other Born Free coach owners and a love of traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

While in New Hampshire we will visit the Canterbury’s Shaker Village.

The rally also includes a visit to the Hamlet of Wolfeboro, http://www.wolfeboronh.us/ as well as a visit to George Boley’s favorite, the Small Boat Museum and finally a cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee on the 230’ sightseeing boat Mount Washington. http://www.cruisenh.com/

After a fun filled week in New Hampshire, we are off to Prince Edward Island, Canada. http://www.gov.pe.ca/visitorsguide/ This little pearl of an island province is connected to the New Brunswick mainland by the Confederation Bridge. http://www.confederationbridge.com/en/ This structure, the longest in the world built over water that freezes, is nine miles long.

While at Prince Edward Island, we will be attending the Annual International Shellfish Festival http://www.peishellfish.com/sf/ held on the Historic Charlottetown Waterfront from September 19-21.

Time to start the journey.
